On 5th April 2025, Community Spirited Cafe held its annual charity Easter fundraiser, bringing together local residents in a show of generosity and good cheer.
A free Easter egg hunt delighted children, made possible by community donations of chocolate eggs. Volunteers and supporters worked together to ensure no child went without.
Tombola, raffle and handmade goods
The event also featured a lively tombola, a well-supported raffle and a range of handcrafted items made by members of the Crafty Knit and Natter group.
Community bakers contributed cakes, and families enjoyed the chance to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Thanks to all the support, the cafe raised a total of £1,125. This figure nearly doubles the amount raised at last year’s event.
A hub for East Cowes residents
Community Spirited Cafe continues to play an important role in East Cowes. Local residents regularly attend its weekly activities, which include:
- Mental Wellness Group: Tuesdays from 12.30pm to 2.30pm
- Crafty Knit and Natter: Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm
- Games Group: Thursdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm
Each of these groups runs alongside the cafe’s community pantry – the first of its kind on the Isle of Wight – which supports people facing the cost of living crisis.

Support groups and family fun
Every four weeks, two additional sessions take place. The Bereavement Support Group meets on Mondays from 3pm to 5pm.
On Wednesdays from 6pm to 8.30pm, the popular WINGO Bingo night welcomes families – and their dogs – for an evening of fun and numbers.
Community Spirited Cafe continues to grow, thanks to the ongoing support of East Cowes residents who value the space as much more than just a cafe.
