East Cowes Regeneration model

Concerned about East Cowes Isle of Wight development plans? Don’t miss public meeting

A public meeting has been organised for residents to share their views on the Red Funnel proposals to relocate the Terminal Marshalling Yard and Drop-Trailer Storage Depot as part of what’s being dubbed East Cowes Regeneration.

The meeting takes place on Friday, 2nd October in the East Cowes Town Hall at 7pm.

All are welcome to attend to share their views about the plans, as well as listen to a presentation from some of the businesses who will lose their deep water berth premises, if they have to relocate.

Loss of deepwater facilities
Concerned residents in the town say the highly important and significant deepwater facilities available in East Cowes could be be lost to the marine industry forever if this expansion in its current form goes ahead.

They say they want the ‘Regeneration of East Cowes’ as much as anyone, but stress that it “must be regeneration and not East Cowes losing out yet again”.

Planning application
You can view the planning application on the council’s Website and have until 9th October to submit your comemnts.
