Council predict £22m ‘budget gap’ over next four years

The council has today released their Budget review.

It’s a document where they layout what they think they’ll be spending money on in the coming years – or more to the point, how much they won’t be, as it appears they are expecting further serious belt-tightening.

Over the coming four years they are projecting financial shortfalls (or ‘budget gap’ as they phrase it) for each of the next four years. Their current estimates are £2.5m missing next year (2013/14); followed by a further £7m in 2014/15; then another £7m in 2015/16 and yet another £5.5m in 2016/17.

Have a read through the documents, as we’ve embedded them below.
