Another school to recently exit Special Measures (it was announced Sandown Bay Academy had worked their way out of Special Measures last week) is Cowes Enterprise College.
The secondary school was placed in Special Measures back in January 2013 and underwent four subsequent inspections. Although inspectors said that improvements were being made, they kept the school under Special Measures.
Under new ownership
The school was handed over to Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) back in the summer, with them taking formal control from 1st September.
Last week saw the official opening take place, with the High Sheriff doing the honours.
As Cowes Enterprise is now considered by Ofsted a new school, it comes out of Special Measures and according to the CP report, it could be up to two years before another inspection takes place.
