Cowes Floating Bridge: Legal dispute now ended, but settlement figure will remain secret

The Isle of Wight council have confirmed that a full and final settlement has been reached at mediation to end the legal dispute between all parties relating to Cowes Floating Bridge 6 (FB6).

FB6’s designer and builder, Burness Corlett Three Quays (Southampton) Limited and Mainstay Marine Solutions Limited have reached a full and final settlement with the council at mediation bringing the legal dispute between the parties relating to Floating Bridge 6 to an end.

Amount to remain secret
The council have also advised,

“It has been agreed that the terms of the settlement should remain confidential, and no party will make any further statement relating to the terms of the settlement agreement.”

The floating bridge has cost the council millions of pounds since it first went into service in 2017.
