The Cowes to East Cowes chain ferry will be taken out of service for part of Wednesday 4 July for routine works to replace parts of the vessel’s drive system.
The bridge will run between 5am – 7am before being taken out of service. A passenger launch will then be in place for pedestrians and cyclists. Motorists will be diverted through Newport.
It is hoped the floating bridge will be back in service by early evening. Full service will resume under normal operating hours on Thursday 5 July.
The council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
