Cubs Celebrate Centenary of Scout Movement With 100 Daffodils

CUBS in Newport are celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Scout movement by planting 100 daffodil bulbs in the grounds of St John’s Church.

Green fingered members of the 6th Newport Cub Pack are also planting a tree in Church Litten Park to mark the special anniversary with help from Isle of Wight Council’s Parks and Countryside team.

The group is affiliated to St John’s Church and are taking part in the planting exercise to complete two of the 100 challenges set by the scouting movement to commemorate the anniversary.

The tree planting ceremony is due to take place on November 17 at 10am in Church Litten.
