This in from the Police earlier today – in connection with the five arrests that were made in May 2011 during the investigations in to the disappearance of Damien Nettles. It’s in their own words – Ed

Police car bonnet by Bruce WebbPolice can confirm five men arrested in May 2011 on suspicion of murdering missing Isle of Wight teenager Damien Nettles in 1996 were due to answer bail on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

A 38-year-old man from Ryde, Isle of Wight was re-bailed until March 7, 2012 pending further enquiries.

A 48-year-old man from Sandown, Isle of Wight was released from bail with no further action

A 45-year-old man from Cowes, Isle of Wight was released from bail with no further action.

A 50-year-old man from Newport, Isle of Wight was released from bail with no further action.

A 40-year-old man from Gravesend, Kent was released from bail with no further action.

If further significant evidence becomes available at a later date, these decisions can be reconsidered.
