Anyone anticipating seeing Dee Caffari and the all-female crew aboard Aviva sail past Ventnor today for the start of their all-female Round Britain attempt are going to be sadly disappointed.
Plans to set off for their challenge from Ventnor today have been thwarted by the noticeable lack of wind.
According to seasoned kitesurfer Chris Burke, there’s a high pressure over the Island at the moment, which is giving us the great weather but holding back the wind.
But you won’t have to wait long, because the challenge has been postponed until Monday afternoon. The team will set sail from Portsmouth with Ventnor being the starting line.
Other members of the all-female crew on board include Samantha Davies, Miranda Merron, Isabelle Joschke and Alex Sizer.
We’re in contact with the team so will be able to keep you up to date on the latest as it happens.
