Destruction Of Ventnor Suggested On BBC Radio

UPDATE: Warning – Engage humour before reading.

A proposal to eradicate Ventnor from the Isle of Wight has been discussed on the BBC.

Destruction Of Ventnor Suggested On BBC RadioThe details of the suggestion were discussed on BBC Radio 4 on Monday and are as follows – to remove all of the land that makes up Ventnor and redistribute it to Bembridge. The goal? To make the Island symmetrical.

While the idea was being discussed, we were horrified to hear the studio audience actually laughing at the idea.

VB is outraged that something like this can be actively discussed on the BBC and the residents of Ventnor haven’t been asked what they think of it!

Clearly a few people of late have tried to achieve the same aims, but by building on it rather than completely removing it.

The BBC has been in touch will the (ex) Head of Tourism for the Island, who was happily, was dismissive of the idea – perhaps because, as they reported, he lives in Ventnor.

Thanks to the sharp-eared Ventnor resident, Stuart George, who alerted us to this sick idea.
