Ventnor resident and former Rolling Stone, Dick Taylor is the focus of a feature being filmed this coming Thursday on Ventnor’s seafront.
The man behind British rock band, The Pretty Things, will be filmed by a French TV station, who’re creating a feature on musicians who were involved from the beginning in bands who ‘made it big’.
Long career in music
Dick has a fascinating history in the music industry. After leaving the Rolling Stones in 1962 – to be replaced by Bill Wyman – Dick went on to form The Pretty Things.
He later played with The Mekons (the founders of which went onto form Gang of Four) and also produced Hawkwind’s debut album.
Where and when
Dick is a spectacular musician and well worth watching. He’ll be playing with The Hillmans in The Boathouse Bar at the Spyglass Inn (Ventnor seafront) on Thursday 9th January from around 7pm for one hour.
Apparently, they’ll be paying for all the drinks during Dick’s set.
Please note that the free drinks rule won’t apply later in the evening when JC & Angelina play their regular Thursday set.
