Galina Zastava, an artist based on the Isle of Wight, will be holding a solo exhibition titled “A Few of My Favourite Things” at Quarr Abbey.
The exhibition will run from 18th to 23rd July and will be open every day from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free for all visitors.
From Moscow to the Isle of Wight
Originally from Moscow, Russia, Galina Zastava worked as a financial analyst in Moscow banks.
In 2005, she moved to England after getting married and has since established herself as a talented artist on the Isle of Wight.
Embracing the Old Masters’ style
Galina enjoys working in the style of the old Masters, focusing on painting light and the way it creates forms and textures.
She now uses this traditional technique to paint modern still life, employing a multi-layered method that allows light to come through layers of paint and bounce back from the white underpainting, creating transparency and purity of colours.
Representation and further information
Galina is represented by Burfield Antiques and Fine Art, located at 38B, High Street, Ventnor.
