Duke of Edinburgh back on the Isle of Wight

His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh is to visit Cowes between 8 and 11 August for the annual Cowes Week regatta.

During his time in Cowes, he will visit Osborne House to view the recently refurbished Durbar Room and will also present the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade) to Spinlock Limited in Cowes.

The Duke will also visit Northwood House to meet with volunteers and those involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the Classic Boat Museum Exhibition. He will also spend time at the Royal Yacht Squadron and Island Sailing Club.

He will be welcomed to the Island by HM Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Major General Martin White CB CBE JP, who comments:

“It is an honour to welcome HRH back to Cowes once more.”


HRH will visit Osborne House on Monday. On Wednesday he’ll visit Spinlock Limited, Northwood House, Classic Boat Museum, Island Sailing Club and Royal Yacht Squadron.
