The East Cowes Carnival Association has had an exciting and productive few weeks, with preparations for this year’s celebrations well underway.
East Cowes Carnival Association held its Royal Selection event on Saturday 19th April at the East Cowes Liberal Club.
The afternoon brought together music, celebration and community spirit, thanks to DJ Timster and the hosts who ensured the event ran smoothly.
Meet the 2025 Carnival Royalty
A panel of respected judges—including former committee member Susan Armitage, former Carnival Queen Janet Hickman, dance coordinator Zoe Langridge, and creative designer Kira Lacey—had the honour of selecting this year’s Carnival Royalty.
The Association proudly announced the following Royal Court for 2025:
- Senior Queen: Abby
- Senior Princesses: Kaedee and Summer
- Junior Queen: Hannah
- Junior Princesses: Emily and Danielle
Congratulations go to all those who were crowned.
Upcoming fundraising and community events
Looking ahead, the Association is organising several events to raise funds and bring the community together.
The Association will be fundraising at the Riverfest family funday (Newport Quay) on 10th May.
Full details for both events are available on the East Cowes Carnival Facebook page.
Free Carnival Workshops for all ages
Families from across the Isle of Wight are invited to join the Carnival Workshops, held on the first and third Sunday of each month at the East Cowes Scout Hut on Adelaide Grove.
Running from 10am to 12pm, these free workshops offer a chance to make costumes and learn dances in preparation for Mardi Gras and the summer carnivals.
These sessions are supported by the Isle of Wight council, helping to ensure they are accessible to all.
Gratitude for community support
The Association has expressed heartfelt thanks to WightAid for a £500 grant, describing their support as “incredible” and praising the work they do for communities across the Island.
Save the date: Saturday 23rd August
