East Cowes man denies breaching restraining order against local councillor

An East Cowes man has pleaded not guilty to breaching a restraining order against an Isle of Wight councillor.

Appearing today (Thursday), at the Isle of Wight Crown Court, Simon Wheeler was charged with acting in breach of a restraining order against Councillor Karl Love.

It is alleged Mr Wheeler, of Albany Road, contacted Councillor Love on 3rd November earlier this year when he was prohibited from doing so.

Trial date set
A trial date has been set for the week commencing 15th April 2024.

Mr Wheeler was granted conditional bail and told not to contact Councillor Love or attend any Isle of Wight Council meetings.
