The Yarmouth RNLI crew were unable to save a sinking fishging ship that is alleged to have been condemned by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) two years ago.
The first ‘shout’ for two crew members of Cowes RNLI saw the perform a vital role in going to the aid of a 16 foot angling vessel stuck in the middle of the shipping lane.
The race commodore's yacht was lost to the sea on Saturday during Round the Island Race with crew rescued just seconds before the much-loved vessel sank just east of The Needles.
