Wednesday afternoon brought with it recognition for ten teams from Island Schools, Colleges and Academies at the Isle of Wight Young Enterprise Finals.
A panel of judges had the honour of selecting winners in a variety of categories, but it was Spark, Christ the King College Sixth Form’s first Young Enterprise Company, who took the Company of the Year Award.
Producing and selling woodcraft products
Spark was formed in September 2012 and designed and produced woodcraft products including Christmas decorations and Valentine’s gifts as well as key fobs for Walk the Wight.
The team, including May Wheeler (Managing Director), Jack Wilson (Finance Director), Jack Salero (IT Director), Fraser Norris (Operations Director), Jonathan Whitehouse (Human Resources Director) David Parsons (Assistant Operations Director), Arty Vince (Marketing Director), Dan Rue (Sales Director) and Shannon Green (Company Secretary), also appeared in the top three for all other categories as well as winning best Trade Stand, Best Company Report and Best Presentation.
Regional finals
Spark will now go on to compete against teams across the South East at the regional finals in Egham on the 20th June.
