Further to plans for a public drop in session to learn more about Yaverland and Shanklin sea defence work, the Environment Agency have made the difficult decision to cancel all of October’s public exhibition drop in events at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and the Broadway Centre.
This is due to flooding impacts across the Isle of Wight.
Prioritising our incident response work
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency told News OnTheWight,
“Our staff are currently prioritising our incident response work. The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and members of the public is a priority.
“We expect to go ahead with the rest of our schedule of events as planned in November.”
