Explore Nick Martin’s latest exhibition with our video preview

It’s always great to have commentary from the artist when taking a first look at an exhibition. Get the inside on Nick Martin’s latest work, exhibiting at the Rope Store Gallery until 23rd May, from this OnTheWight video.

Nick Martin -

If you haven’t seen the latest Nick Martin exhibition at Quay Arts yet, you now have an extra week, as the exhibition has been extended until 23rd May.

You may remember Nick’s Blue Eyed Boys exhibition in the West Gallery in 2009, a fantastic collection of portraits that took five years to complete (watch the video/podcast mashup).

Odd and Even
Nick’s latest exhibition is in the much more intimate surroundings of the Rope Store Gallery.

OnTheWight were treated to a sneaky peek of the exhibition by the ‘skating minister’ prior to the show opening.

To get a flavour of the work being exhibited, sit back and watch this video of Nick showing us around the exhibition. It gives a great insight into the artist and the techniques he uses to create these fantastic pieces of work.

Odd and Even is showing in the Rope Store Gallery at Quay Arts Centre in Newport until close of business on Saturday 23rd May 2015.

Between Lines
You might also want to pop upstairs to the West Gallery where Nick’s art students are exhibiting their latest work, Between Lines.
