Exquisite Corpse Big Draw free family drop-in with Joanna Kori

Last updated:

As part of the Quay Arts’ Big Draw Jo will be holding three drawing events tomorrow (Saturday). There’s a choice of 10am for the early birds, 1pm or 4pm.

To celebrate this year’s theme, “Every Drawing Tells a Story”, Quay Arts is running a FREE, larger than life-sized community drawing event, Exquisite Corpse, at the Ventnor Exchange on Hallowe’en, Sat 31 Oct.

There will be three sessions run by Ventnor artist Joanna Kori throughout the day – at 10am, 1pm and 4pm.

All materials are provided and refreshments are available. The event is supported by The Daisie Rich Trust and is suitable for all artistic levels, ages, individuals, pairs, groups and families.

Exquisite Corpse
Game of folded paper played by several people, who compose a sentence or drawing without anyone seeing the preceding collaboration or collaborations.

The now classic example, which gave the game its name, was drawn from the first sentence obtained this way: The-exquisite-corpse-will-drink-new-wine.” –André Breton (founder of Surrealism)

Your life-sized collaborative drawings and sentences will be displayed at Ventnor Exchange over the weekend and used as a source of inspiration for the poets taking part in our Spoken Word session on Sun 1 Nov 2015. We will then enter your efforts for a Big Draw Award for inspiring community events.

So put Sat 31 Oct in your diary and enjoy a spookily good time at the Ventnor Exchange!
