It’s the perfect time to explore the Isle of Wight – why not hire an electric bike and admire the stunning scenery whilst cycling easily from town to town? Stop off at one of our beachside cafés and enjoy a delicious seafood platter whilst watching colourful sails floating along the horizon.
For family fun, visit the race villages that come with the major sailing events, or just spend a day topping up your tan on the beach while the kids compete to build the best sandcastle! See the Island at its sunny best and enjoy the relaxed, nautical atmosphere of Festival of the Sea.
Shipwreck Isle
Man the riggings for Shipwreck Isle! This fantastic event, now in its second year, is set to return to the golden sands of Appley Beach from 18th – 19th June.
Make your way to the shore and meet a group of no-good pirates whilst taking part in a range of fun-filled swashbuckling activities!
This pirate extravaganza is completely free to attend and is a guaranteed fun day out for children and parents alike.
Solitaire Bompard – Le Figaro
Make the most of the Island’s world-renowned sailing scene and travel to Cowes to enjoy the race village that comes with the impressive Solitaire Bompard – Le Figaro. The race sees 21 highly skilled solo sailors set out on an epic journey from France via the Isle of Wight.
To celebrate their stopover, Cowes will burst to life with exciting activities day and night. The race village pops up in Cowes from 22nd – 26th June.
Round the Island Yacht Race
The world-famous JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Yacht Race takes place on 2nd July and sees 1600 boats circumnavigating the Isle of Wight.
The race day is quite a spectacle, so be sure to reserve a good spot at a beachside café to watch the colourful spinnakers pass by.
