Near the end of the Minghella Film Festival last month, we managed to catch some time with Island based film maker, Bruce Webb.
Bruce played a very big part in this year’s festival, sitting on discussion panels as well as premiering his award-winning feature length film, The Be All and End All.
Bruce told us how blessed he was to be able to work with the two young stars of the film, Eugene Byrne and Josh Bolt, neither of whom had worked professionally on film or TV (interview with them coming up on VB).
For Bruce, making a film is all about the storytelling, choosing to not focus too heavily on the technical side of things.
Being based on the Island but working in London can be a challenge, Bruce told us, but with his partner and children living here, his return to the Island at the weekends provides the much needed respite from the chaos of the film industry.
Listen to what else Bruce had to say ….
