Final Round 2015 Championship: Knighton Sand Pit
The Vectis Isle Pioneers Mcc held the final round of its 2015 trials championship at Knighton Sand Pit, Newchurch on 8th March.

A big thank you to Roger Morgan for the use of this great venue. The club would also like to thank Howard Jacobs who gave us eight excellent sections with everything from rocks to hill climbs.

Alfie takes top spot
Young Alfie Haydon put in another good performance to take top spot from newcomer Luke Snow in the E class. Alfie managed to clean six sections losing his marks on just sections one and three. Luke rode really well at his first attempt posting a competitive score and is definitely one to watch – good effort.

In the Youth under 80 class Kyle Jacobs seemed to struggle on the tricky course, despite riding unopposed, Kyle really had to earn his ten championship points.

Meanwhile brother Kerry Jacobs rode a blinder in the Youth over 80 class to take a convincing win from friendly rival Oliver Moore, it proved to be sections one and eight that made the difference here.

A determined effort
Blake Lucas, although riding unopposed, also gave a determined effort and never the less posted a competitive score in the Youth Easy class to claim his ten points.

In the Twin Shock Class, it was Nick Symes who continues to dominate with another display of balance and control losing just one mark cruising his way into top spot – excellent effort Nick. Young Jos Wright finished in second place with Stewart Freeman, returning to trials after a several month absence in third.

A very close contest
The well-contested Novice Class proved to be a very close contest with just three marks separating the first three places. Paul Kent took the win losing just eight marks with Brian Brockwell and Wayne Brodie in second and third respectively – Brian and Wayne’s scores were tied but Brian took second place with more cleans.

Mark Gray took a convincing win in the Expert Class and finished ahead of Peter Carr in second with Stuart Gummer a close third.

Next event
The first round of the 2015 season will be held on 12/04/15, the venue is still to be confirmed.
