Scouting is the largest Youth Movement in the world. LEGO® is the largest toy company in the world (according to Google). Put the two together and it’s inevitable that many Scouts have LEGO® kits.
Malcolm Cox, who launched the Isle of Wight Scouting Heritage Blog last year, has put Scouting and LEGO® together in a new blog.
Follow Sid on his Scouting adventures
Sid the Scout and his friends are LEGO® figures. Sid has been a part of Scouting Media for a few years, originally appearing in IW Scout newsletters in 2017, but he and his friends have now branched out into an independent Blog.
Although Sid’s blog is aimed at Scouts, particularly younger Scouts, it will also appeal to non-Scouts with an interest in LEGO®.
The blog follows their activities with Scouting adventures, trips to Island and Mainland places and attractions and learning Scouting Skills.
Find out what Sid has been up to
Sid’s recent activities include visits to the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, Carisbrooke Castle and Bovington Tank Museum, with his friends.
Sid and his friends have also been building soap box cars and learning how to tie knots.
Sid has also produced a 2023 calendar which you can download from the blog.
Guest appearances
Several Island Scout Groups have big boxes of LEGO® parts and run LEGO® activities during their meetings.
Sid and his friends have made guest appearances for several Groups and are scheduled to appear at several more.
