This in from Isle of Wight foodbank, in their own words. Ed
Our food stocks are very low and with the school holidays upon us, our provision will be in even more demand as families in Crisis find it a struggle to feed themselves and their families.
Isle of Wight Foodbank are currently feeding 120 people a week, 45% of which are children. The numbers just keep going up and up. In May we gave out four tonnes of food here on the Island.
30% extra donations pledged by Tesco
Tesco Extra have pledged to top-up the donations by giving Isle of Wight Foodbank 30% on top of the total amount of food donated by the very generous Islanders.
All donated food stays on the Island going to those in sudden crisis. No Food + No £ = CRISIS.
This is part of a joint venture between the Trussell Trust and Tesco nationally supporting their local food banks up and down the country.
