Footprint Trust joins national campaign for Fuel Poverty Awareness Day

Footprint Trust backs national campaign highlighting fuel poverty’s impact on Island residents

The Footprint Trust is working with National Energy Action on their campaign to raise awareness of Fuel Poverty and the impact it has on people’s lives.

Supporting a national campaign
Fuel Poverty Awareness Day is on Wednesday 18th November 2026 and the Trust will be supporting their campaign to highlight the different ways in which this can affect residents.

Helping the community spot the signs
Island-based charity, the Footprint Trust trains staff working in the community in recognising the signs of fuel poverty and are now bringing their attention to the general public.

The impact of a cold home
With many people worrying about the rising cost of their energy bills, there are situations where people are having to choose between heating or eating.

The impact of a cold home affects health conditions and increases the risk of mould and condensation developing in a home.

A real concern going into winter
Manager Laura stated,

“Teaming up with National Energy Action on their UK wide campaign brings credibility for our charity’s drive to reduce the amount of fuel poverty on the Isle of Wight, we have a high number of households on the Island that are struggling to meet the cost of their energy bills which is a real concern going into winter.”
