If all goes according to plan, before the end of the year there could be a planning application submitted to the council for the former Frank James Hospital.
According to Cabinet member Cllr Jonathan Bacon, a ‘white knight’ has arrived on the scene.
Readers will remember there are complex ownership issues surrounding the Frank James, with some of the companies that own parcels of land having gone into liquidation. This resulted in the Crown Estates taking part ownership of the site.
OnTheWight understands that the ‘white knight’ is in the process of resolving the ownership issues in relation to the various parcels of land involved.
Frank James on TV
The former hospital will be appearing on our TV screens next month after footage was shot in October.
Pier Productions from Brighton made the trip across the Solent to the Isle of Wight for a special feature they were commissioned to do for BBC South.
The feature, presented by Tom Holland, will be screened on Monday 2nd Thursday 5th December on BBC1 at 7.30pm under the title, “Restoring England’s Heritage”.
We’ll aim to remind you nearer the time.
Frank James gathering
Friends of the Frank James will will gathering this Sunday (17th November from midday) to work on securing the building and grounds. All are welcome to help out.
