Free Bike Wrapping and Cheap Dog Chipping

Cheap Dog Micro-chipping Heads To VentnorThere are several opportunities coming up for Island residents to get their bicycles security marked or for their dogs to be micro chipped.

Dog chipping will cost £12 at each location, while bike wrapping – where a permanent sticker is put on a bicycle giving it a security number – is free of charge.

Sandown
On Monday 24 October in Sandown High Street as part of a joint crime prevention exhibition with Hampshire Police, Isle of Wight Council’s dog wardens will be offering dog micro-chipping. This service will be available between 1100 – 1300, while bike wrapping will be available between 0900 – 1600.

Lake
The same two services will also be available at St Urain Car Park in Lake on Thursday 27 October, with the dog wardens again available between 1100 – 1300 and bike wrapping provided free between 0900 – 1600.

Brading
On Friday 28 October, the team will be at Brading’s main car park in the morning before heading to the High Street in Bembridge.

Dog chipping will be available in Brading between 1000 -11000, with bike wrapping on offer between 0900 – 1200.

Bembridge
In Bembridge, bike wrapping is available between 1300 – 1600, with dog chipping available between 1400 – 1500.

Speak to you beat officer
The Safer Neighborhoods teams from Shanklin Police Station will be attending at Sandown, Lake, Brading and Bembridge next week with the mobile police office for the local communities to come and speak to their local beat officers.

Officers will be offering crime prevention advice to their local community and handing out crime prevention products. They will be at Sandown and Lake between 0900 – 1600, at Brading between 0900 – 1200 and at Bembridge between 1300 – 1600.
