Band performing at Ventnor Fringe in the park bandstand

Free Fringe: Ventnor welcomes artists for public performances – register now

Registration is now open for street performers and buskers who want to perform at Ventnor Fringe Festival without running a ticketed event. It is sometimes referred to as ‘Free Fringe’.

All art forms are welcome and there is no fee or costs to take part, as long as your performance is suitable for the public areas. Asking for donations or selling artworks/merch to support your work is encouraged and the Fringe never takes any commission.

You are welcome to ‘put the hat out’ or the card machine.

Three main areas for Buskers and Street Theatre
This year Ventnor Fringe will operate three main areas for Buskers and Street Theatre.

Fringe Village: This is the tented village at the heart of the festival, which spreads out through Ventnor Park and the neighbouring Flowersbrook.

There is a Bandstand here with a PA where performers are provided slots everyday of the Festival, as well as a range of suitable sites throughout the park for other types of performance

Fringe Square: This is a small outdoor area located in front of St Catherine’s Church and opposite Ventnor Exchange. It’s where the ever popular Ventnor Book Bus is located, as well as the Maker’s Market.

There is a busking spot here and small garden for intimate storytelling type performances.

Ingram’s Yard: This is a new theatre venue for 2024, with an outdoor courtyard area to the front. Located right in the town centre on Dudley Road, where there will be a bar and busking stage.

The building is being gradually renovated by the Fringe team to become a new arts centre for the town.
