The curators of Shopping Trolley are back on the scene, this time organising FreeQuay. Despite the name, there is nothing to be scared of about the week long event being held at Quay Arts in July.
Based mostly in the cafe area, FreeQuay brings an opportunity for you to showcase your most recent work. The curators are looking for “anything experimental, anything exciting, any medium, anything goes!” The deadline for submissions is 3 July, so there is still plenty of time to get creative.
It’s not just your bog standard paintings on a wall exhibition either. Multi media, experimental, interactive, installation, and audio based submissions are all welcome.
In fact, some events have already been booked. On Saturday 14 July the evening (6pm) kicks off with a short film and animation screening. This will be followed by interactive animation and a live jazz performance by Russell Richards.
Following Russell’s gig there will be an open jam in the theatre which will be transformed in the Audio Visual Lounge
If you’re interested in being involved, please contact the exhibitions organiser Jo on 01983 824160 or [email protected].
We’ll be bringing you more news as we get it.
