Many residents in Ventnor and Bonchurch lost access to their Freeview channels last night.
For some it was a great opportunity to read a book instead, but some others were far more perturbed by the lack of access to ITV and Channel 4 programmes.
The outage seemed to continue into today, so OnTheWight got in touch with Freeview to find out what the problem was.
A spokesperson for Freeview told OnTheWight,
“An engineer visited the site in the Ventnor area, Isle of Wight this morning to resolve the issue.
“The transmitter is currently on reduced power.
“Ninety per cent of viewers in this area should currently be receiving a Freeview service and the service will be fully restored for all viewers by the end of the day.”
If in the future you experience a problem with your Freeview channels, head over to the at800 Website where you can find contact details and diagnostic tools.
