The Ventnor Botanic Garden Friends Society are celebrating their 21st birthday with an afternoon of fundraising at the garden this coming Saturday.
Alan Titchmarsh, who opened the existing Greenhouse in 1997, will launch the Friends’ £250,000 fund raising appeal towards the cost of its replacement at 1pm, but the afternoon will start with one of the Friends’ ever popular plant sales from noon.
The Anniversary Auction of some fine plants and other quality donations will follow the launch.
The Great Isle of Wight Quiz has been running throughout the year and the winner will be announced at 3.00 pm (and the answers for those who are still struggling).
Simon Goodenough, the curator, will round off the afternoon by leading a walk through the garden to highlight projects that the Friends have supported over the years.
