Friends of the Ventnor Botanic Garden AGM This Thursday

A reminder that the Friends of the Ventnor Botanic Garden will be having their AGM on Thursday this week.

Thanks to Rosemary from the Friends of the Ventnor Botanic Garden for this reminder. In her own words. Ed

VBG Visitors Centre: Our AGM will take place this Thursday, 19th April at 7pm in the Visitor Centre. Afterwards, new member Margaret Morris will give a short talk on Clematis.

She is a past Chairman of the British Clematis Society and has run her own nursery.

Gathering for walk and talk
Nineteen interested people gathered on Friday for the ideas walk with John Curtis and Chris.

We walked the Outer Loop, stopping a few times to discuss what was good about specific areas and what could be improved. Finally we thought about preliminary designs for an eye-catching new logo.

The contract with the IWC should be signed soon and then things can start to happen. It has been a long wait.

Currently in bloom
The camassia bed is coming into bloom beside the pergola and I spotted a beautiful protea cynaroides ‘Little Prince’ on the hot bank below the Library.
