Further Pure Events: Update – Change of Dates

THREE further “Pure” events – Isle of Wight Council’s special club nights for the under 18s are due to take place over the next few months – including the first one to be held in Ventnor.

The pure events are run by the Council’s Safer Neighbourhoods Partnership and are supported by the Police, Connexions, the Youth Service, Town Councils and other partner agencies.

They bring a taste of club land to younger teenagers on the Island in a non-threatening and safe drug and drink and smoke free environment. The three events will feature three DJs and two MCs who will play a mix of Drum n Bass, Hardcore, Alternative, Indie and Chart Music.

Southern Vectis is supporting the event in Ventnor by putting on extra number six buses leaving Newport bus station at 6pm so that Chillerton, Chale, Niton and Whitwell will be covered.

A special number six bus will take young people back from the Ventnor event leaving from outside Boots at 10.15pm.

Early bird tickets cost £3 and can be obtained from Carisbrooke, Cowes, Sandown and Medina High Schools. Tickets are £4 on the door.

Councillor Diana Tuson Isle of Wight Council cabinet member for safer communities said: “These immensely popular events are a real bonus for younger teenagers on the Isle of Wight.

“They can enjoy the best of contemporary music in a setting which is safe and drug and alcohol free.”

The three events are:

PURE COWES Yacht Haven, Fri 15th Feb 7.30 until 10.30 (second event in Cowes)

PURE VENTNOR Winter Gardens, Tuesday 19th Feb 7.00 until 10.00
