Concept plans of how the public realm around Venture Quays in East Cowes could look have been released.
Since the Government announced that East Cowes would be granted £5.8m of Levelling Up funding, the East Cowes Town Council has been working with Isle of Wight council to develop the public realm area of the Venture Quays.
Love: These regeneration plans “have legs”
Cllr Karl Love, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health and councillor for East Cowes, told News OnTheWight,
“Early concept drawings, which need a great deal of development, are a big opportunity for the people of East Cowes moving forward.
“Unlike many of the past regenerations plans that our town has seen over the years, and there have been many of them, this one has some legs, not least because there is funding already identified and attached to help progress the project.”
The public will have their say
Cllr Love went on to add,
“There is a long way to go yet, but it’s a start and a part of the redevelopment of the esplanade area.
“There will be a lot of discussion about these plans with the people of East Cowes in the coming months.”
