Gum Fu: Interview With Sarah Stringer (podcast)

Gum Fu: Enter The ClinicLast week we felt very lucky to be asked along to the Island premiere of Gum Fu: Enter The Clinic.

The film was created by the Streets Ahead team in association with IOW Chlamydia Screening Programme and after the screening we chatted to those involved.

The film was excellent, it was extremely informative as well as being full of humour and professionally produced. First up in our series of podcasts is Sarah Stringer, chlamydia screening coordinator for IOW.

She was clearly glowing with pride as she talked about how hard the young people worked to create and produce the film.

She explained that the idea for the film came about when she was giving a presentation on chlamydia at a Youth Service meeting. One of the youth workers suggested that working with Streets Ahead may produce positive results and put her in touch with the team.

As Sarah says on the podcast “There’s nothing like peer to peer”

There are plans to take the film around the the Wight to schools and help spread awareness for this STD amongst young people.
