Guy Page Trio Release New EP (podcast)

Readers of VB will be well aware that we’re big fans of the Guy Page Trio.

Guy Page Trio Release New EP (podcast)We loved their previous EP, Time for a Change, so were pretty pleased to hear last week that Design, their new EP, has just been released.

Band members Guy, Tom and Chris popped over to VB this afternoon to drop off a copy of the new EP and have a chat.

Having listened to the EP a couple of times now, in our view, the band have gone from strength to strength and their regular gigs on the mainland (about one a month we hear) are sure to have helped tighten the act.

Guy tells us that the new tracks are an evolution of the type of sound that they want to create rather than a departure from the previous.

The music still has their trademark melodic guitar and snare drums sitting snuggly alongside the meaningful lyrics.

Guy Page Trio Launch New EPThe tracks were all recorded at Studio 5a which we hear is being well used by other Island bands for rehearsing and recording.

Max Gilkes from Brighton mastered the three tracks, Questions, The Design and Another Way which were performed and produced by Guy Page Trio.

We loved the cover design of the last EP and weren’t surprised to hear that Danny Colson of Arcade:Design (whose name you might also recognise from Goodbye Stereo) was responsible for the latest cover artwork.

Anyway, the lads had much to say, so put your feet up for five minutes and have a listen … (apologies for the popping – I normally leave interviews to Simon so not used to holding the mic) [audio:http://otw-audio.s3.amazonaws.com/guy-page-trio-design-ep.mp3]
