Detective Inspector Paul Masters was awarded third place in the category of ‘Smarter Detective’.
Portsmouth-based Det Insp Masters is Hampshire Constabulary’s lead for Digital Media Investigations and has driven major innovations in our approach to tackling crime.
He has worked with vulnerable groups susceptible to cyber-crimes and played a crucial role in investigations into juvenile prostitution, child sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
Det Insp Masters said:
“This is recognition for every investigator pushing back the boundaries of technology to tackle crime.
“By bringing more digital knowledge and capability to the frontline, investigators are now able to consider the opportunities offered by technology in every case.”
