Havant & Waterlooville Surprise Liverpool FCFans site havantandwaterlooville.net, run by Rich Self, captured the obvious excitement …

For half an hour we led, at Liverpool, playing football that opened eyes the world over. Our part-timers not only took a squad of internationally famous players by surprise, but made them work for their victory. The Kop stood and applauded, and allowed us to sing their anthem with them.

The Hawks will no doubt be on the lips of many a football fan over the south of the the UK, as well as many scousers, pretty good for a non-league side 123 places and five divisions below the seven-time FA Cup winner.

Well done Havant & Waterlooville!
