Now in its seventh season, The Luna Cinema is the country’s largest producer of open air cinema events in the UK.

This year they are heading across the Solent to the Isle of Wight to bring us three great films to watch in the grounds of Queen Victoria’s former holiday home.

The fun begins on Wednesday 19th August with a treat for Benedict Cumberbatch fans as The Imitation Game is screened. It’s the story of how during World War II, mathematician Alan Turing tries to crack the enigma code with help from fellow mathematicians.

The following evening (Thursday 20th) we go back to 1985 with Michael J Fox when Back to the Future is screened.

End your week with a bang on the final screening which is one we can all sing along to, the 1978 classic, Grease.

Book now to avoid disappointment
Make sure you book your tickets now to avoid being disappointed when you discover they’ve sold out.

As always, Luna audiences are welcome to take along picnics and drinks to screenings. However, all events will also have hot food for sale and a full bar on site.

A word from the founder
George Wood, founder of The Luna Cinema, said:

“When I produced my first open air cinema screening in 2008 in Dulwich Park, I had no inkling that open air cinema would ever become so popular in Britain. People told me I must be bonkers for investing in an outdoor screen given the unreliability of our weather!

“Seven years and thousands of screenings later, any doubts have long since evaporated. The British public have proven that they’re more than willing to brave the elements to enjoy a much-loved film under the stars.”
