Help Ptolemy Win National Cat Competition

We’re hoping that VB readers will be able to help with this request from a fellow Ventnor resident. Ed

TollySome months ago, we noticed that Gourmet cat food was running a competition.

The company wanted to know “is your cat special?” That was of course a silly question – we have five cats and they are ALL special!

Vote for Tolly
On a whim, we entered the cats and their photos and to our delight Ptolemy (Tolly for short) was soon doing rather well. There are some 2,500 cats in the competition and he is currently about 85th.

If he wins, he will win a diamond necklace (which he is flatly refusing to wear), a supply of cat food and a photoshoot! He has already said we can sell the necklace and, with the proceeds, throw a party for everyone who has voted for him.

He is looking forward to the possibility of the food and is already trying out poses all over the house, but we have had to tell him that on his back with all four paws in the air is not showing him off to his best advantage.

Help an Island cat win!
We thought it would be great fun if an Isle of Wight cat (born near Newtown and living in Ventnor) could win this national competition and if any of your readers would vote for him we would be very grateful.

All they have to do is head to the competition page and cast their vote.

The competition is open until the 4th September. Thanks to everyone in advance.
