Hovertravel show their support for Isle of Wight Pride 2022

Isle of Wight Pride is returning on Saturday 16th July with a parade through Ryde and live acts on the seafront throughout the afternoon.

New for 2022 are events on both Friday and Sunday, making the weekend a three-day celebration of diversity and inclusivity and an opportunity to give Ryde its annual coat of rainbow colours.

“Grateful to our long-term supporter, Hovertravel”
Isle of Wight Pride said,

“We are excited to announce the all-new 2022 Isle of Wight Pride which aims to build on previous successful events by extending the fun from Friday through to Sunday.

“We are grateful to our long-term supporter, Hovertravel, for their ongoing sponsorship and assistance with today’s launch and over the coming weeks, we can promise plenty of new announcements from headline acts to extra events.”

As a sponsor since 2017, Hovertravel promotes Isle of Wight Pride and is always looking to see how it can help attract an audience from beyond the Island.

Late flights
This year Hovertravel is extending its timetable into the night by adding two extra flights at 21:15 and 22:15 from Ryde on Saturday 16th July.

Loretta Lale, head of commercial at Hovertravel, explains,

“Part of Pride is spreading awareness and making events attractive to all, so by operating additional flights we are giving people the opportunity to enjoy more time at Isle of Wight Pride and still enjoy the fastest way home at the end of their evening.

“Hovertravel is a champion for diversity and inclusivity so we are delighted to see the return of Isle of Wight Pride this year and alongside our commercial sponsorship, we are demonstrating that we can support the local community with extra, later hovercraft flights for high profile events on either side of the Solent.

“I can also confirm that, as in previous years, Miss Jason will be on hand at our terminal in Southsea providing entertainment as the ‘Hover Hostess with Mostess’ on Saturday morning.”

Parade followed by afternoon and evening of entertainment
On Saturday there will be a traditional parade in Ryde from noon, starting from Queens Road, down to West Street, Cross Street, Union Street and onto the Esplanade.

The parade will finish next to the Community Village on the seafront where all the afternoon and evening entertainment will take place.
