Two Hovertravel craft at Ryde

Hovertravel announces one-craft timetable for November

Last updated:

Hovertravel has announced a one-craft service for November to facilitate essential and required maintenance on their two craft.

In an email sent to customers, the cross-Solent company explained,

“As you may know, we use the quieter month of November, when we carry the fewest passengers, to conduct essential and required maintenance on our two craft.

“As these craft cross the Solent many times a day, it is crucial that we keep them in the best possible condition to help maintain our reliability standards.”

New timetable
A new timetable will be introduced as a trial for one-craft operations from 6th November to 3rd December.

Hovertravel states that the timetable will include the same number of flights but with changes to the departure and arrival times in the afternoons, resulting in a slightly longer turnaround time at Ryde.

The altered flights are listed below, while all other crossings will remain unchanged.

Preferred bookings transferred
To ensure a smoother transition to the temporary timetable, Hovertravel’s commercial team will transfer all affected preferred bookings to the closest corresponding crossing in the new timetable this week.

For instance, if your preferred booking was the 1530 from Southsea, you will be booked on the 1515 from Southsea. If the amended booking does not suit your schedule, please email [email protected] with details of your preferred alternative flight.

Hoverbus timetable
The Hoverbus timetable has also been adjusted for the same period to maintain important connectivity with the rail stations in Portsmouth. For specific details, please visit the website.
