The four day Isle of Wight Festival came to an end last night (Sunday) with Jon Bon Jovi providing the final performance on the main stage, whilst the audience sang along with the band’s 1986 hit Livin’ On A Prayer.
Commentators on social media told of how they could hear the audience’s singalong as far away as Cowes.
Fall in numbers attending?
There has been wild speculation on the number of festival goers attending this year, which many put down to last year’s disastrous traffic problems, but as the organisers refuse to release numbers of tickets sold, we’re unable to confirm exact numbers.
From our observations on site, although definitely quieter than in previous years, there were still significant numbers at the festival, ensuring plenty of atmosphere.
Share your highlights
The vibe was certainly a joyous one (the sun always helps) with many smiling faces and happy dancing.
Our highlight was probably Island band The Weatherkings in the Quay Arts Kashmir Tent. Always joy to watch anyway, this was amplified as their hilarious lyrics had the audience howling with laughter.
So what were your highlights and lowlights? Who was the most surprising act you saw? What was your favourite food and what was the funniest thing that happened to you over the weekend?
