I Spy With My Ventnor Eye … Prizegiving

Anyone following the I Spy With My Ventnor Eye Competition will remember that our victorious winner was regular blog reader, Maddy (pictured right with Debbie from Seasons). She managed to correctly guess 9 out of the 25 entries proving herself to be one of the most observant citizens in Ventnor.

VentnorBlog 'I spy' comptetition winner - Maddy with Debbie from SeasonsNow … we promised a great prize and originally The Ventnor Brewery had very kindly offered to donate a 36 pint party pack. However, we didn’t bank on the winner being an 8 year old!

Although Maddy was keen to the accept the beer (with plans to sell it onto her Mum), we felt it would be better to look elsewhere for a more suitable prize. We heard through the MySpace grapevine that she’s a creative little one and loves painting and card making (maybe we can encourage her to enter the Macnaughton-Howe Festival next year!)

So … in step Debbie and Bob of Seasons on High Street, Ventnor (formally Paper Lines) who very generously agreed to donate a £20 voucher for Maddy to use in the shop on art supplies and stationery.

As you might know, Debbie and Bob have worked at Paper Lines for years and recently have taken over ownership of the shop. They have some great plans for the shop and we’ll be covering that in another piece on the blog in the very near future.

Maddy’s Mum was really impressed with the competition and how it got her daughters out of the house in search of the cryptic locations …

“Thanks for a great comp. Kept the girls thinking and walking. Look forward to the next one.”

We’ve been really encouraged by the many positive responses to the competition and therefore have lots more planned for the coming year. Watch this space!
