Iain McKie plans to finish charity bike ride after border setback

Iain McKie, the man behind the ambitious Trafalgar (UK) to Trafalgar (Spain) cycle ride, is preparing to complete the final leg of his challenge this summer.

He had to halt his journey at the Spanish border last year after his passport and wallet were stolen.

Over 1,000 miles already completed
Despite the setback, Iain has already cycled over 1,000 miles in just under 12 days, raising more than £5,000 for seven different charities.

Now, he hopes to complete the final 900 miles of the ride in June and is inviting others to join him for the final stretch.

Open invitation to fellow fundraiser
Making clear that the ride will remain flexible and low-key, Iain explains,

“There is no planned route or accommodation booked.”

He says he’d be happy for others to come along, especially if they want to raise money for their own charity as part of the ride.

Finishing what he started
The cross-continent challenge remains unfinished, but Iain is determined to reach the finish line.

Anyone interested in joining him can get in touch ahead of the mid-June departure.

See his La Tour de Loon website for more information.

Ahh, the old essential maintenance routine. We haven’t seen that one for at least a week. Unless you know different?
