ICR Touch donate £20,000 to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine

A Sandown-based company has donated £20,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) to help the people of Ukraine and is calling on other businesses to do the same.

Colin Ringer (pictured above) CEO of ICR Touch, explained,

“Like many others, we’ve been shocked and saddened by the events that are currently unfolding in Ukraine.

“The ongoing conflict has already forced at least two million people to flee their homes, leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones while only taking the items they are able to carry.”

He went on to say,

“It is expected that 18 million people will be affected by the conflict, with four million people expected to be displaced as a result of the conflict. Homes have been destroyed and critical infrastructure such as health facilities, water supplies and schools have been damaged.

“Aid and support is desperately needed and this week, we’ve made a donation of £20,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

“These much-needed funds will go directly towards supporting work in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries, meeting the immediate needs of refugees by providing food, water, health assistance, protection and trauma care.”
