Investigation into suspected arson in Shanklin

Police appeal for any information readers may have about the fire in Shanklin last night.

Fire fighters:

Police have confirmed that they are investigating a report of a suspected arson in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called to an address in Atherley Road, Shanklin at 12.24am this morning (25 June). The Fire Service also attended, bringing the fire under control.

A 56-year-old man from Shanklin, Isle of Wight was arrested on suspicion of arson. He has been taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.
