OnTheWight brought the short-lived Twitter account @iowbants to your attention at the tail end of May.
Since then rumours had been circulating that someone had got the Isle of Wight Police involved, so OnTheWight got on the trail to find out more and this afternoon we’ve had the details from them.
Indecent images
The Police have confirmed that they have indeed got involved and are making enquires “after receiving a report of indecent images”.
They go on to say that they “always investigate matters of this type”.
IW Police response:-
Police are making enquiries after receiving a report of indecent images being posted on a social networking site last week (May 31). The site has subsequently been closed down. Hampshire Constabulary take reports of this kind very seriously and always investigate matters of this type accordingly.
