Island Train Window Broken By Shot Or Stone (UPDATE 3)

A train travelling from Ryde to Shanklin had its window broken this afternoon, as it was approaching Sandown station.

Train window brokenDetails of what broke the window are currently unclear, but those on-board said it might have been a shot from an air rifle or stone.

The train is currently waiting at Sandown station waiting for the Police and paramedic to arrive.

Delays
Island Line tell us that all of the trains are back in service.

The train will have to be taken out of service.

The train line between Ryde St Johns and Shanklin has come to a standstill and this is expected to carry on for one to one and a half hours.

The service between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde St Johns is unaffected and running as normal.
